Collecting your BTO keys is exciting — but the move from your old place is usually the messy part. After thousands of disposal jobs across Singapore, our team has noticed the same pinch points repeat: oversized wardrobes, mattresses that won't fit the lift, and that one storeroom no one wants to open.
The trick is to plan disposal as a separate workstream from the move itself. Treat your old furniture, appliances and clutter as items that need a clear destination — donate, recycle, or dispose — before the movers arrive.
Mattresses, bed frames and built-in wardrobes are the bulkiest items in any HDB unit. Measure the lift and corridor width before you book any service so the crew brings the right tools and wrapping. SameDay teams come prepared with stretch wrap, dollies and floor protectors to keep your old home clean on the way out.
- Measure the lift door (W × H) and the longest corridor turn.
- Strip beds the day before — wash linen, bag pillows for donation.
- Disassemble flat-pack wardrobes only if you have the original screws.
- Photograph any built-ins so we can quote dismantling accurately.

Sofas, TV consoles and dining tables often have hidden screws or are mounted to the wall. Snap a photo, send it to us on WhatsApp, and we'll quote on the spot — no surprise charges on the day.
- 1Keep — moving with you to the new flat.
- 2Donate — working condition, less than 5 years old.
- 3Recycle — metal frames, glass, electronics.
- 4Dispose — broken, stained or beyond repair.
“Disposal isn't the end of the journey — it's the start of an item's next life. Donate first, recycle second, dispose only when there's no other path.”
Old appliances should be drained and unplugged at least 24 hours before pickup. Anything still in working condition can be donated; we partner with local charities to give items a second life wherever possible.

Once your old place is cleared, the new BTO actually feels like a fresh start — not a graveyard for old furniture you couldn't decide on. That's the whole point.
